Not identified. The first and third items attributed to Mulock are letters (or extracts from letters) written by the contributor in 1851, from Geelong, to a friend in England; extracts from other of his letters occupy 4 cols (pp. 215-216) of the second item. According to the letters and the few editorial remarks accompanying them, the contributor was "a recent settler" in Australia, a young man. In partnership with a Mr. Rumble, he had bought a farm at Mount Swardle in the Geelong district and had become a successful farmer.
Payment for the third item is marked "Handed by W.H.W.", July 10. The contributor was presumably in Australia in July 1852; payment may have been handed to the friend to whom he addressed his letters or to the person who placed them at the disposal of the editorial office (perhaps the same person).
The MitcheIl Library, Sydney, reports that Mulock's name does not appear in the relevant Victoria directories in the Library holdings, but that William Rumble, labourer, New Town, is listed in the "Geelong and vicinity" section of an 1851 directory. WilIiam Rumble may be Mulock's partner, or he may be one of the partner's four brothers, who were also in Victoria.
